As you walk into work as a Law Enforcement Officer, you know that you will be putting you life on the line for people you do not even know. This week multiple officers from jurisdictions all over the United States gave that ultimate sacrifice. This has been a bloody week in Law Enforcement. Officers from Virginia to Oklahoma have been killed and some officers have had to make the decision to end the life of another human. Thursday, the same town that a few years ago, was mourning a shooting in their school was once again astonished as a Virginia Tech officer was shot and killed on campus while on a Traffic Stop. Then officers were shot at while investigating a burglary in Oklahoma, and finally officers had to make the ultimate decision on weather to take the life of another or not in Hollywood, a decision that they will have to repeat for the rest of their career if not their life's.
I thank God everyday for the men and women who put their life's on the line to protect and serve an un-thankful community. From responding at break neck speeds to burglarys in progress, first responding on a medical call. These officers truly work in a "thankless" job. My thoughts and prayers go out with the family's of the officers who were shot and injured/fatally wounded this week. You hero's did not die in vein. We will remember them and keep the memories with us as we do our job. The only thing that I can say is that I hope that the rest of this year is not bloody like it was this past week.
You have protected and served, my brothers and sisters, to the fullest extent possible. Well done!
